How Wipro interviews work
Wipro hires freshers through two main routes. The Elite National Talent Hunt (Elite NTH) is an off-campus programme open to students from any recognised college; it runs entirely online with an aptitude test, technical interview, and HR round. On-campus placements work similarly. The Wipro WILP (Work Integrated Learning Programme) is a paid programme where employees study for a BITS Pilani degree while working at Wipro full-time, with the degree funded by Wipro. For lateral hires, Wipro runs two to three technical interview rounds and an HR discussion, with salary negotiation more open than for freshers.
Wipro Spirit values and culture fit
Wipro's Spirit covers three dimensions: Be passionate about clients' success, Be global and responsible, and Unyielding integrity. These translate into behavioral interview questions about client focus, ownership, and transparency. "Describe a time you went above the minimum to solve a client or stakeholder problem" maps to client passion. "Tell me about a decision where you had to be fully honest even when it was uncomfortable" maps to integrity. Wipro also emphasises sustainability through its ai360 strategy and responsible business commitments, which come up more in management and graduate interviews.
Wipro is investing heavily in cloud (FullStride Cloud), AI, and cybersecurity practices in 2026. For technology candidates, connecting your background to one of these practices specifically is stronger than a generic expression of interest in IT services. "I want to join Wipro's cloud practice because I've worked with AWS in my projects and I want to develop enterprise-scale migration experience that I can only get at a company with Wipro's client base" is a specific and credible answer.
Wipro technical interview questions
Standard Wipro aptitude and technical questions: "What is the difference between a process and a thread?" "Explain ACID properties of a database transaction." "Write a function to check if a string is a palindrome." "What is a pointer and how does it differ from a reference?" "Describe your main project: what problem did it solve, what technology did you use, and what would you change if you did it again?" The last question is important because it tests depth of understanding, not just the ability to describe features.
For WILP selection, the technical questions are adjusted to your undergraduate subject: electronics engineers face circuit analysis and digital systems; computer science candidates face standard CS questions. The WILP process also considers academic marks as a filter, so candidates with stronger academic records have a better shortlisting rate. For lateral hires, depth on your primary technology is the most important factor: Java, Python, cloud platforms, SAP, or domain-specific tools.
Wipro HR round and relocation
The Wipro HR round covers standard questions plus some specific to Wipro: "Tell me about yourself", "Why Wipro?", "Are you comfortable working in shifts or on client sites?" (relevant for infrastructure and support roles), "What are your notice period and salary expectations?", and "Do you have any concerns about the service agreement?" Wipro freshers sign a training bond, typically covering six to twelve months after training completion. Address it honestly in the HR round if asked.
For "Why Wipro?", reference something specific: the WILP programme if applicable, Wipro's ai360 investment, or a specific practice (cybersecurity, cloud, engineering services). Avoid saying "Wipro is a reputable IT company with good growth opportunities" without specifics. Wipro interviewers hear this constantly and it signals no real research. Connecting your specific career goals to Wipro's current strategic priorities is the way to stand out.
